Some kajal and lipstick please!

Some kajal and lipstick please!

The Queen is now forced to do the thing he hates the most! Campaign for his party men who are fighting the panchayat and zilla parishad polls in the nook and corner of the state.

The lazy man has to get up and leave early for the tours to the boondocks of Orissa where fawning party men await him with hired crowds. Seeing the cheering crowds (Rs.50 + one free lunch is the going rate) lulls him into thinking about his massive popularity!

Given even a nano bit of a chance, he would opt for his sedate evenings at the capital when he can relax with his Black Dog and jumbo prawns and maybe a bite from the corned beef tin kept always at hand !

Just got to watch the Queen from real close quarters (almost at handshake distance!) at one of his election rallies. The cavalcade of vehicles preceded by the siren blaring police pilot vehicle swept into the meeting spot in a flurry of red dust. At least 15 private vehicles stuffed with dour faced partymen followed him.Yes, they were disgruntled because no sarkari babu or clerk ever listens to them! You see few could reap the benefits of their party being in power for 6 whole years !

Wonder who pays for all this ! The BJD party or the party men themselves? With the Queen’s clarion call to fight against corruption, the party must be real broke! Wonder how they print their banners and posters, lakhs of which are now found all over the countryside even in the remote hamlets!

In a spotless white kurta pyjama and with the fake smile on his puffed up face, the Party Prez was waving at the crowd. I was wondering what a great hit he would have been among his hand clapping sisters, if only he would smear some kajal and lipstick! A hundred hearts would have broken to smithereens! Hai! Hai!

The mikes blared out the BJD campaign spiel which he of course could not follow since it was in Oriya. How our most beloved CM is committed to the upliftment of tribals……….does it by shooting down the protesting tribals !

How he is working for development of western Orissa…………forget about state budget , central grants are left unspent for years together!

How he is dreaming to develop the state through industrialization……….so that banias can laugh their way to the bank with the loot from captive mines gifted at harek maal rates!

Alas, how long are we going to tolerate the Queen's chicanery with which he has been fooling us since the last 6 years! Any saviours listening ?

Court declares Brajabhai as absconder

Pioneer News Service | Bhubaneswar

The Cuttack Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate's Court has declared former general manager of Oriya daily Samaj, Brajabhai alias Brajaraj Das, as an absconder on Tuesday.

The court has also directed him to appear before it on February 19 to defend the charges against him. The court also issued an arrest warrant under Sections 468, 467, 420, 408, 506 and 120 (B) of IPC. But as he has been found missing for a long time, the court under Section 82 of IPC has declared him as absconder. If Brajabhai does not turn up by February 19 before the court, his movable and immovable properties would be confiscated, said a senior police official.

Earlier, the present general manager of Samaj, Dandanirodh Mishra, had filed an FIR against Brajabhai for defalcation of funds worth Rs 96 lakh at the Cantonment Police Station in Cuttack. After Brajabhai failed to get anticipatory bail from the Orissa High Court, he has gone underground. The police had formed five teams and conducted raids for the elusive Brajabhai in New Delhi, Kolkata, Cuttack and Baripada. But after they failed to nab him, they approached the court to declare him an absconder.

Meanwhile, when contacted a senior police officer said on Wednesday that Brajabhai would be arrested soon and that raids have been carried out at different places in order to track him. "As the court has fixed February 19 as the surrender date, we are expecting him to appear before the court," officer said, adding that prima facie evidence was against him. He was hopeful that the police will be able to nab him.

To the Anon who suggested the Middle East Saheli gets maskara for the Queen:

Spoke to the Saheli and he readily agreed. But he was in a generous mood and even volunteered to get maskaras and kajal for the said Anon's mom and sister.

I told him to go ahead. I am sure Anon would be mighty happy to get imported free stuff.

Hi Saheli's Saheli. Tell her she need not be generous to others. Be generous to her/ your mom, wife and sis. That will mean much more to me than " free" imported stuff. By the way I live abroad and have enough money to buy the stuff I need in life. And getting "free" stuff may be a journo's delight but I am not one of your tribesmen.

Let Sahelis bother about Sahelis and spare the men.

By the way one Anon requested the Kalinga Sandh to ask the Queen's Middle East Saheli to send some make-up stuff. How come some other Anon responded to it and even forwarded the Anon's request to the Saheli ? What's happening ? Who's the Saheli and who all are Saheli's sahelis out here ? Looks like it is a Saheli blogsite and not a Sandha blogsite

Response to Kalinga Sandha : I was basically stating that you dont have to comment on his looks to arrive at the concluding sentence of the posting. But...whew ...you went overboard again. Response to the Anon after that : You are right...we are like that.....only physical. Imagine P.T.Usha looking like Zeenat Aman. She could have been..a billionare and perhaps married to Mel Gibson. Everything that is physically better is perceived to be superior...and better.

Naveen Patnaik is in a desperate state really. Never heard or seen any chief minister campaigning so vigorously and spending so much money on panchayat elections ever before ! And even though Congress is almost non-existent as a political force in Orissa, what accounts for the success that party has got in the last two rounds of polling ? Can't reject the suggestion that the leadeless Congress is giving Patnaik a run for his money. Well, many see the panchayat polls as the beginning of the end for the vainglorious and useless son of a great man.No make-up kit will help Jr Patnaik to salvage his "spotless" image any more.

Who is to blame for the Queen's popularity? -- the people or India Today?

Monday, February 19, 2007
Anonymous Anonymous said...

The manipulators at work at the India Today management obviously. That magazine knows how to manipulate data to suit it's commercial interests. So why blame people when they have not been consulted in the first place ?

India Today exonerated JB Patnaik of the charges of being party to the deterioration of the living standards in KBK in the 80s after a " negotiation " and now it is out to blow Naveen Patnaik's balloon out of proportion at any cost(ask Naveen's brother Prem and BJ Panda about the actual cost). Naveen is seen as Punjab di Puttar by the Punjabi elite dominating the Indian polity of the day and not as son of the soil.People close to Biju Babu know of the incident when the Great Man had to slap his son Prem Patnaik for calling a peon " Oriya bastard". Unfortunately, all of Biju babu's offsprings have grown up in the Punjabi mould in which it's money and money that matters. And Orissa, they think, unka baap ka jaagir hai.Poor Oriyas, at least most of them, still rever Biju Babu and Naveen & Co are cashing in on that sentimental aspect all this while.
But just wait and see what happens to the Punjab di puttar. Oriyas can be fooled for a while but NOT for all times to come

The punjabis control the north Indian media and obviously they are enamoured of Naveen.

And both the brothers Prem and Naveen laugh at the simple Oriya and continue to fool him.

If you notice, most of Naveen's stooges defend him by comparing him with JB Patnaik, a leader who has been rejected by the people of the state and even sidelined by his own party. The argument is : since Naveen is "better" than JB as a person he should continue. Naveen's greatest advantage is that most people in the state know little about his past and in any case Oriyas always think people who don't belong to the state are infinitely better. And it's "sone pe suhaaga" if that person speaks English like a "sahib".

About the "clean" image : well, if the otherwise all-knowing journalists feign ignorance and pretend not to see things, how do you expect the average person to see the other side of the "clean image".

The handful of chamchas and inferiority-complex-ridden Oriyas have already made Naveen believe that he is a great leader and that he is the Chosen One - one who would rule Orissa till he breathes.

I feel it is the media which is an active partner in Naveen's PR drive, hype and all that. Never before had the media in Orissa taken to lipstick and kaajal on such a largescale and in such a brazen manner. So go ahead and celebrate the Queen's Great Victory. The Queen will bless you.

Maneka Gandhi, the greatest fraud in the field of animal care in India was in Orissa to give a clean chit to Naveen Patnaik, her country cousin and Punjab-di-puttar

Imagine Maneka overlooking the aggressive mining and industrial policy of Naveen da govt that has landed forests and wildlife in the state in the gravest of dangers since Independence. What's even more shocking is : she says the Orissa govt has successfully checked the mass-killing of turtles ! Even the wildlife officials are embarrassed about the gross exaggeration.

So what's her motive ? Some of Maneka's critics say it's money and self-interest that power all her moves. What's the truth ? Can Sandha, being an animal himself, enlighten the public at large- please ?
